McMillan Gardens is headed by Laurie McMillan. Laurie started her horticultural career over 20 years ago and during this time she has acquired a wide range of skills and knowledge through the following;
- Managing large private country gardens;
Main duties include maintaining large ornamental planted areas, vegetable and fruit gardens, wildlife areas including ponds and orchards and meadows, communicating with clients and being responsible for the development of the gardens.
- Design projects
Providing clients with the most suitable designs and plants for their garden taking into account of soil type, aspect and client wishes.
- Horticultural lecturer
Laurie was a full time horticultural lecturer for 9 years delivering both theoretical and practical courses to all ages and levels.
